Here at Pathfinder Advisors we’re a bit different. We have created an integrated hybrid service that combines consulting, accounting, coaching and training.
Why? To eliminate the gaps and inconsistencies business owners usually face when sourcing advice from their accountant and/or other advisors. Typically that advice is infrequent and is often given without knowing the full picture or how the business really operates. We offer a better way.
Business consulting, coaching, accounting, together
Our Principal Advisors and associates draw on their individual and combined pool of professional experiences to give clients a thorough and balanced perspective on what will work for their business.
Pathfinder clients typically have from 5 to 50 employees and demonstrate a proactive attitude towards developing their business. You could be seeking growth, looking to consolidate various operations, wanting extra profitability, or planning to exit the business. If you need guidance to achieve your goals we might be able to help.
We’re taking a new approach
In the past business owners have had limited access to a depth of professional business development advice. For example, a business owner would often speak with their accountant for basic financial reports, receive some tax advice (possibly only once a year), and if they’re lucky maybe their accountant will give them an occasional clue for how to minimise costs.
But the advice is infrequent, and is often given with a lack of understanding of how the business actually operates on the inside. We know, a successful business is about a lot more than just the numbers on paper!
Why don’t more accountants give good advice?
It’s an unfortunate fact (for business owners) that 81% of accountants lack confidence in giving business advice*. As a result, they focus on looking in the rear vision mirror doing compliance work for last month or last year, instead of looking forward to help you achieve your goals for tomorrow.
Business owners can easily get trapped with a limited vision for growth because they don’t go further than their accountant for advice. It’s too difficult to easily and cost-effectively obtain various professional viewpoints without the hassle of engaging separate consultants or coaches.
And even if you – the business owner – did engage other consultants, the advice would usually be from each individual consultants point of view, isolated from other aspects of the business. As a result, you can easily end up with conflicting, or at best loosely connected, ideas on how to address your challenges and grow your business.
We know there is a better way
That’s why we focus on “Where your business needs to be”.
When circumstances require we can start with our Pathway Program, which is a service to help assess your goals and identify priorities. This will give you immediate clarity on which actions to take, and which to avoid. Then, if you want, we follow on with a ‘customised subscription’ service delivery model that enables us to work on an annual business improvement action plan that is tailor-made for your situation, goals and challenges.
All this in an affordable pay-by-the-month program for about the same cost as a part-time employee.
Modern accounting and business advice
We can achieve this because we have the capability to integrate your accounting data with our overall business review and planning activities (even if we’re not doing your accounts). Now you can make well-informed decisions based on real-time data.
There’s no need to wait for complex financial reports like in the ‘old days’. Our accounting team use the latest cloud accounting tools to create customised dashboards and provide regular advice that gives you timely insights into the performance of your business.
Does that sound interesting?
